Into The Light

The song “Into The Light” was inspired by my dear friends Hamilton and Laura BailieLaura recently departed this earth, leaving her husband, family and many friends after a long fight with cancer.   I am ever grateful and a much better human being for having known her and Hamilton. Many years ago when I was living in England in the 1970s Laura and Hamilton helped me through a very difficult time.  When I was in despair they showed great kindness through friendship and our mutual love of music.  I still imagine Laura and Hamilton walking together on their beloved Devon coast.

Also this song is dedicated to my dear wife Lesley.   May we share many more years together in our abode in Southern Oregon in the presence of friends, family and the majestic Cascade and Siskiyou mountains.

I want to thank Rev. Chris Johnson and Rev. Sylvia Massy of Church of Divine Transformation for letting me record the song in their church with the assistance of recording engineer Nick Kirby.

Here are the lyrics to the song “Into The Light” (© 2016 Muswell Hill Music– SESAC by Waqidi Falicoff):

When shall the wind lift up this Kite
In the end there’ll be no fight, I can see a bird on high — Into The Light

All the dreams I shared with you
Countless walks on dunes of crimson hues
No more tears when I say – Into The Light

Cascade Mountains poured into a cup
Hot and sweetened drink it up
Hide your fears when you call a friend – Into The Light

When shall the wind lift up this Kite
In the end there’ll be no fight, I can see a bird on high — Into The Light

All the dreams I shared with you
Countless walks on dunes of crimson hues
No more tears when I say – Into The Light

I wish that there was more to Me
Could I fix the things I see
All I wanted was to set you free — Into The Light

When shall the wind lift up this Kite
In the end there’ll be no fight
I’m above that bird on high
Into The Light
Into The Light
Flying – Into The Light
